Dr. Emandi Shankara Rao has had a diverse academic journey. In his undergraduate studies, he demonstrated his innovative skills by designing and developing a project on the 2716 EPROM programmer using the 8080 microprocessor and 8255 PIA, collaborating with his Electronics & Communications Engineering teammates in the ECE Department, despite belonging to the Electrical Department Branch. After the introduction of GATE in 1983, he pursued post-graduation in M.Tech Reliability Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, specializing in a new field offered at the time. His project in DRDO-NSTL on Torpedos recorder systems reliability and maintainability in 1984 showcased his commitment to practical applications of his academic learnings.
Following his tenure in Telecom Systems and Power Systems manufacturing sectors, Dr. Emandi Sankara Rao returned to academics driven by a passion for research. He pursued a Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) at IIT Bombay, focusing on Telecom Infrastructure Services Project Finance & Technology. His dissertation, titled "Techno-Economic Framework For Sensitivity & Risk Analysis Towards Network Effectiveness," utilized innovative Stochastic and AI-ANN simulation models to analyze International Digital Telecom Services Networks. Concurrently, he completed a PGDBA from Pondicherry Central University in 2002 while serving in IDBI & IDFC.
